For more technologically impaired users like me: to find your browser version, open Edge, click the … icon, navigate to settings, and click “about Microsoft Edge on the left. The version number will be near the top of that page in small text.

I have a question—in step 2, which format should the browser version be entered in? Say if MicrosoftEdge_X64_108.0.1462.54 is installed on my computer, should I type that entire application name in the “insert your browser version” space, or should I start from X64, or 108?

Never mind, I figured it out after a bit of trial and error. Typing 108.0.1462.54 in the “insert your browser version” space worked. It did NOT work if I included any part of MicrosoftEdge_X64_ in front of those digits.

Followed steps, restarted PC, it's still here. Jan-16-23

Guides like these need updating sometimes. I will update it soon.

I've used this before to uninstall an earlier version of Edge and it worked, but now with it being version 109 and above it won't work. Is there another way or am I missing something? I'm on Windows 10, by the way. Please help!

Microsoft probably saw my guide and patched it. I'm working on finding a new way to delete Edge.

I NEED to know where u got your background from. Is its from wallpaper engine

Didn't work for me. Step 1 works, but inserting the uninstall command just does nothing

I updated the guide.

I too used this method successfully in the past, but following a recent update to version 109 (or possibly due to a Windows update) Edge cannot be uninstalled using command prompt or powershell. Need to find a new method, I suppose, and it will be necessary to make changes to the registry to prevent reinstallation. Thanks for your contribution @guardian10!

Got a new method to work, and updated the guide.

Microsoft patched the CMD trick as of January 2023. I have updated the guide to show the new method.

there are literally insane ammounts of registry entries that write to or are part of edge integrated into winodws I've gone through over 1000 entries now not in the folder shown.

I tried to uninstall it repeatedly because it's really messing my computer up and causing me problems. It stated " is not recognized as an internal or external command and operable program or batch file. I have version 112 forcefully installed on my computer. Another thing they also have a default keylogger that should be against the law.

Microsoft patched using the command line to uninstall Edge. Concerning the keylogger, Windows is just an NSA backdoor at this point, so it makes sense. If you don't want your every move tracked, you have to switch to a distro if GNU/Linux or FreeBSD.

Recent [May 2023] Windows update to my older ver from 2019-20 Windows 10 Home 22H2, OS Build 19045.2965 includes Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19041.1000.0 - I think recent update inserted "Fake News" widget in command prompt box. None of removal methods cited work - not long ago I used 'Program/Features to simply uninstall this browser like anything else I don't want/use - I suspect now AI is being used to deal with we nerds by quickly nullifying workarounds hoping to wear us down then infect our critical faculties with fairy floss from Murdoch Well. Well, my solution is to migrate to LINUX with my longstanding Firefox browser -Sn0w1ey

It is faster and easier with a program that I found in a forum "https://www.iobit.com/es/advanceduninsta... it eliminated it, but if you want to uninstall all traces since there is another more advanced option than the simple one, you have to pay for the program. I hope it helps you.
